Leslie Aberlin is the visionary developer behind Aberlin Springs, Ohio’s first true agri-community. After her father purchased and farmed the 141-acre property until passing away at age 60, Leslie and her mother chose to preserve his legacy by transforming the land into a vibrant, sustainable community. With a background in custom home building through Pendragon Homes (established 2004), Leslie merged her passion for organic living with land development. When illness nearly forced her out of conventional work, a dream from her father inspired her to blend homebuilding, food production, and community design—leading to the creation of Aberlin Springs: an integrated neighborhood centered around a working organic farm, energy-efficient homes, pollinator gardens, and walkable green spaces .
At Aberlin Springs, Leslie reshaped land development by embedding agriculture directly within residential planning. Homeowners participate in a mandatory CSA supporting farm operations, while benefiting from access to fresh produce, meat, and eggs. She also implemented thoughtful infrastructure—geothermal heating, pocket neighborhoods, and natural landscapes—to foster quality of life and ecological health . This September, Aberlin Springs will host the Rogue Food Conference, a two-day event running September 26–27, 2025, featuring major food-freedom voices like Joel Salatin, Catherine Austin Fitts, and Congressman Thomas Massie.
