Central Ohio’s apartments might seem expensive to renters, but a new study concludes that Delaware County is the most affordable county in the nation in which to rent.
The study, by the real-estate information service RealtyTrac, of Irvine, Calif., compares median rent prices with median income to come up with its affordability ranking.

In Delaware County, median rent consumes 14 percent of median income, half the national average of 28 percent.
Cincinnati, where rent consumes 17 percent of income, is the only other Ohio city on the list, coming in as the 9th most affordable community for renters.
The least affordable city is New York, where rent consumes 69 percent of median income.
